LE PUNJAB
Restaurant located a few steps from the town hall of Sète offering vegetarian cuisine at affordable prices.
Le Punjab is one of Sète's oldest restaurants, and not the least. The welcome is friendly and smiling. An excellent address run since 1991 by Gurjit Singh, three steps from the town hall, where he prepares Indian cuisine, of course, and inspired by his native region: Punjab, of course. Tandoori, biryani, curry, naan and lassi are all prepared with respect for tradition, and the flavors of these dishes will take you on a journey. Lunchtime formulas, like the €9.90 one, include vegetable fritters, chicken curry and basmati rice. Unbeatable for that price! We prolong the pleasure with the evening menu and excellent samossas, then a famous shahi korma (lamb with grape sauce, cashew nuts and crème fraîche), tasty and melting to perfection, and to finish off with a kulfi (pistachio and cardamom ice cream). For our part, we loved the eggplant fritters accompanied by naan made à la minute and a surprising halwa (pistachio, raisin and almond cake). Prices are more than affordable, and the two menus are sure to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Vegetarians will be delighted, and all dishes can be taken away.
