Simple home-made cuisine based on fresh produce in a good value restaurant in Sète.
If you pass in front of it, stop! First of all, for Sylvain's warm welcome, the managing son, who presents the suggestions of the day on the chalk menu, shows the fish on the dishes (fresh and wild), carefully selected in the morning at the auction market, you enjoy informative anecdotes and advise you the origin and cooking of fish. Then for the simple but tasty cuisine of the Italian mama Gabriella, who left her original Venice 48 years ago to settle down in Sète. Everything is homemade with fresh products: razor clams seasoned with parsley, fried squids, sea urchins, mackerel marinated in Venetian way, grilled 700-gram brill, turbot, John Dorry fish or 2 kilograms sea bream, dog fish with capers, grilled bream, specialities as à la plancha monkfish, parillada with four grilled fish, delicious frescati (entremet with Italian meringue, coffee icing). They don't hesitate to take account of customer suggestions to test on the menu less known species like scarbardfish. Far from tourist traps, in an authentically marine setting (historic photos from the city on the wall), with good value for money, the Mezzarobba family will be pleased for an exchange at the end of the meal!
