LE FRESCATI DE SÈTE PÂTISSERIE APRILE
For 4 generations, the family has been defending the colours of eating well in the singular island of the famous Frescati (desserts from the tradition of French confectionery) introduced in Sète towards the 1890. This formal cake consists of a disc of sweet dough, supporting a biscuit with blond grapes, full of rum, which is surmounted by a thick and smooth coating of Italian meringue, and ice-shaped with a café fondant. Many regulars come to book this speciality of Serge Aprile for the weekend, but there's more: Norwegian omelettes, iced vacherins, Bavarian foams, small pastry, ice-cream, homemade chocolates and other Patissou of Sète (anise seed and green olives) will delight the most gourmets. As we were finishing off, Michèle and Serge moved to the same street, from 18 to 6 rue H.-Euzet, they now offer more space, a snack corner, sandwiches, pizzas, salads for a meal, quickly and inexpensively, tea lounge in the afternoon and smile all day long. We loved this family and their cakes!
