A stay in Valras-Plage is an opportunity to taste oysters, mussels and other seafood from the region at the shellfish shops.

Thierry Brondi, a professional fisherman originally from the Var, and his son-in-law Louis Fraisse are in charge of Valras Coquillages after having taken over the Vidal family's shop. It is an institution well anchored in the Valrassian landscape which proposes, in the Marty market and on the stalls located on the boulevard de la République near the tourist office, platters of seafood, shellfish and crustaceans. You can also enjoy oysters from the Thau Lagoon, spider crabs, or the specialty of Sète, the succulent tielles.

The prices are very reasonable for fresh seafood, our experience was very good and each of the items was delicious and paired well with the white wine accompanying. I believe we paid €11 for a decent collection of seafood and two wine cups, which was much more reasonable than the nearby restaurants. A good and fast al fresco dining experience if passing by.
