L'AUBERGE DE LA TOUR * * *
3 star hotel in Valros with comfortable rooms
Ideally located in Valros, between Béziers and Pézenas, this 3 star hotel is a place where calm and serenity reign, decorated with two "épis" in the Logis de France. Philippe and Marilyn Grasset welcome you in a large restaurant room where the cuisine emphasizes the flavors of the land. The rooms are very pleasant and have, in addition to the view on the swimming pool, a small balcony and all the comfort. A family inn with the Maître Restaurateur label as we love them, perfect for discovering the riches of the Biterrois region!

We visited on a late September Thursday. Restaurant was quiet. We had the set meal at 25 euros. A good menu, complemented by some well chosen specials "du jour". Goat cheese with smoked salmon was very good and tasty. It was really well presented, setting the theme for the evening. Our main courses were sirloin steak with Roquefort sauce and lamb with a garlic sauce, both with a selection of vegetables. Both choices were really tasty. For dessert, we had pavlova with raspberry sorbet, and apple tarte tatin with ice cream - again both very tasty and so well presented. Service was friendly and efficient. Note that local wine choices are displayed on the wall - which I failed to notice early enough. Next time ...
