MEDIEVAL TOUR
The tower at Valros, built in 1199 and visible from miles around, provided a convenient means of keeping watch over the surrounding area.
Built in 1199 on the site of a Carolingian necropolis, this fort wasn't very active until 1250. Visible from miles around, this sentinel kept a watchful eye on the surrounding area. Refurbished and restored by the commune, the Tour site has now been awarded the Tourisme & Handicap label, and is freely accessible. Anyone can go there at their convenience, and stay as long as they like. A belvedere on the Tour de Chappe offers a panoramic view. Benches and tables are available for walkers.
