ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH
This Gothic-style church is built of black volcanic stone from the Roque Haute volcano.
This religious building, listed as a Monument Historique since 1907, was built in the 15th century. Gothic in style, the church is built of black volcanic stone from the Roque Haute volcano. Partly fortified, it is aligned with the village walls, which have now disappeared. To the north stands a bell tower topped by a pyramidal spire adorned with gargoyles. Another highlight is the sublime 5-metre diameter flamboyant rose window on the west façade.
