Church whose vault was destroyed during the wars of religion
The present church was renovated in the middle of the 19th century on the basis of a much earlier building. Indeed, it is in 970 that Garsende, daughter of the Viscount of Agde, would have built this church as well as the convent of Pallas at the Abbey of Conques (in the Rouergues). The vault was destroyed during the wars of religion. The Catholics, when re-dedicating it to worship, formed an arch across it. The undestroyed choir was vaulted but did not seem to be built at the same time as the outer walls. In 1824 the empty part was covered.
