NOTRE DAME CHURCH
This church built in the 13th century by the Templars, has a remarkable bell tower with a 62 m high spire
Built in the 13th century by the Knights Templar, then destroyed in 1561, to be rebuilt between 1622 and 1686 and enlarged in 1850, the Notre-Dame church underwent an interior reconstrution (rubbing down of the vaults and pillars). In the church, the most remarkable elements are its large openings with historiated stained glass windows, the work of Étienne Thibaud de Clermont-Ferrand (1810-1896). In the choir, the walnut pulpit dating from 1685, represents on its sculpted support Hercules overthrowing the hydra of Lerne. Its bell tower, completed in 1869, is remarkable for its 62 m high spire.
