VENDANGES EN FÊTE
Popular festival that takes place the first week of October and attracts every year more than 7,000 people in Banyuls-sur-Mer
Born in 1995, this popular festival has been a great success over the years. It takes place during the first week of October and attracts more than 7000 people every year. It combines heritage and festive activities through emblematic moments such as the kneading of grapes by children, or the arrival of the harvest by sea on small boats, the local market, themed tastings, sounds and music of all kinds as well as conferences and "food and wine" meetings, it attracts a crowd of curious people and connoisseurs delighted to find authenticity during these days of celebrations which end with the traditional meal at the end of the harvest on the beach on Sunday noon where you will be invited in exchange for a modest sum. During this week, you will be able to taste the wines of the Banyuls vintage by buying a glass which will be used during the festival. Winegrowers, local craftsmen and restaurant owners will do their utmost to ensure that you have a great time. Unlike other local events, the Banyuls Grape Harvest Festival is not a drinking party, you come with friends, with your family and children and everyone enjoys themselves without being rushed. It is one of our favorite festivals in the Catalan region, it has something magical and timeless. A little tip from the Futé, leave your car and come by train from Perpignan.
