CHÂTEAU LAMOTHE GUIGNARD
This second growth classified in 1855 is located on one of the highest points of the commune of Sauternes, it dominates the Ciron valley. A tormented destiny made this property, built in the 16th century, pass into many hands and was split into several pieces. Most of it was acquired in 1981 by two brothers, Philippe and Jacques Guignard, then only in their twenties. Since then, they have developed a rigorous and quality approach on a 32 ha vineyard. Thanks to their constant efforts, they have been able to give this wine the notoriety and place it deserves.
