Castle in Sauternes, known for its wine, Filhot, its large English park, the departure of the Raisin d'Or and the baroque concert
Famous for its Sauternes Grand Cru Classé wine, Filhot is also renowned for its vast 35-hectare English-style park, designed by landscape gardener Louis-Bernard Fischer in 1845. Comte Gabriel de Vaucelles organizes major events here every year, including the start of the Raisin d'Or (Gironde's largest sporting event) on the occasion of the Sauternes and Barsac appellations' autumn open days in November, as well as shows and events, and a Rétromobile. The park is open all year round.
