NATURISSIMO CHM DE MONTALIVET
A family campsite with a superb water park in the heart of a pine forest in Bordeaux.
Centre Hélio-Marin was opened in 1950 and it is on this site that the International Naturism Federation was created. This family-run center was forbidden to single people until the 1970's and until the 1980's, part of the security, access controls and maintenance were provided by volunteers in exchange for a free location and a free entrance to the discotheque of Montalivet, Penelope. The center is usually designated by regulars like the "Monta". On 200 ha of pine forest, you will choose to stay throughout the year in a bungalow, a mobile home, a studio, a chalet, in its camping-car or under its tent. From June to September, the entire entertainment team is present to brighten up the stay: tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, gymnastics, cinema, archery… more than 40 activities to do freely, to which the thermal baths are added - open from April to October - which offer their cures of balneotherapy, sauna, boiling bath, beauty treatments or strength training sessions… Note the existence of a beautiful water park of 800 m2 of pools with slides!

I can only compare this resort with La Jenny (roughly an hours drive to the south), which is generally calmer and more spacious, but lacks some of the accomodations (village center, direct beach access) CHM Montalivet has. Of the two, right now I'd prefer the CHM.
The village center is a great place - it has several shops, bars and restaurants, all with fair pricing, and also very, very good food and wine. In the main season, concerts and other events take place here as well.
While the village center is a very lively place, that doesn't mean you can't have some quiet and peace of mind here. The evenings in general are very calm, and you can spend some peaceful time in front of your chalet or tent. CHM Montalivet also had it's own, very large (more than a kilometre wide) beach, great for long walks or getting away from the crowds.
Thanks for our time here, we'll be back!
Addendum: we visited the CHM as guests this year, coming from Euronat. If you only visit for a day, you can't bring your car with you, which is somewhat bad in a place like this. There's room for improvement in how this is handled right now
