NOTRE-DAME HOTEL
A hotel with 15 rooms, some of which are accessible to people with reduced mobility and offer a view of the park.
Next door to the Basilica, the former Géraud de Graves hostelry was converted in 2010-2012 in the former monks' convent. Although its foundations date back to the 12th century, major renovations were carried out in the 17th century under François de Sourdis, then in the 19th century under Cardinal Donnet, who revived the pilgrimage. The interior is richly decorated. The Baroque altarpiece incorporating the statue of Notre-Dame, begun in the 14th century, took on its present appearance in 1666. The nave and choir are enriched by naive paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as numerous ex-votos (boats, hearts, military decorations, etc.). Regular pilgrimages to the basilica take place on the1st Sunday from March to November. August 15 and September 8 are the most important. The Sanctuary also boasts a 3-hectare park. Situated on the hills overlooking the town of Langon, close to the medieval towns, the Hôtellerie Notre-Dame offers accommodation in 15 rooms, 4 of which can accommodate people with reduced mobility. Not to mention 4 dormitories with 3, 4 or 5 beds. And always with a view of the park! A truly atypical establishment, the Hôtellerie Notre-Dame has been welcoming pilgrims and retreatants to the Notre-Dame de Verdelais sanctuary for over 900 years, as well as all types of visitors looking for a peaceful stay. Catering available for groups by prior arrangement. The Museum of Religious Art was inaugurated in the late 1990s.
