MONASTÈRE SAINTE CLAIRE
A monastery offering to welcome in its Saint Agnes de Prague room, retirees for a half day or a whole day
The Poor Clares, whose monastery was founded in 1926 by Father Aloys, a Capuchin, with Mother Marie des Douleurs, abbess of Millau, live in the Montaudran district, which is their current location. Built in 1934, it was bombed in 1944 and partially destroyed. The community was temporarily hosted by the Benedictine nuns of the Blessed Sacrament at Mas Grenier near Montauban. They returned to their monastery in Toulouse in 1945 after it had been partially restored by German prisoners, some of whom became friends. They welcome groups for half-day or full-day retreats in their Sainte-Agnès-de-Prague room and also a limited number of women (two or three at the most) for monastic retreats.
