BISCUITERIE VEDERE
History: At the beginning, there were two men: Jean Brau and Paul Védère, two lovers of local recipes. The first one bakes and sells traditional Pyrenean biscuits, the other bread. It was Jean Védère, the son of the latter, who decided to revive the tastes of pastries of yesteryear. Thus, in 1950, the saga began that transformed the family bakery into a renowned pastry shop. Success was achieved and the shop expanded by buying Jean Brau's small factory, broadening the scope of their know-how. Today, the recipes have lost none of the authenticity of yesterday and are perpetuated in accordance with Gascon traditions. The pastry shop is recognized as an economic and cultural player in the department. And the products are distributed beyond the Southwest alone. It is possible to find them in some Parisian brands. Védère is also part of a sustainable and ethical development approach.
Products and advantages: Located at the foot of the Pic du Midi, the biscuit factory and its factory store offer a wide range of local products: pyrenean cakes (Petit Montagnard, boudoir, pies, marquises...), biscuits (small soufflés, cigars, waffles, meringues, palm trees, small butter, pure butter shortbread...), traditional pastries (fondant, cakes, spit cakes, walnut cakes, gingerbread...), Basque cakes, gourmet baskets and other seasonal products... at attractive prices.
Smart: It is possible to visit the factory free of charge. The visit of about forty minutes allows you to discover the entire production chain. Visits are only by appointment and from 5 people.
