THE MILL OF MENDAGNE
On the Napoleonic cadastre of 1807, it was already listed but, from the fifty water mills in the Campan Valley in 1830, it is the only resale that you can visit. A jewel of local heritage, it is equipped with two horizontal routs that lead to the hydraulic force. They are the ones who make this mill scarcity because Mendagne's is the only one that allows you to study the movement as closely as possible… entering the engine! Having the two stacks of flint above his head remains a pretty fabulous experience. Restored in 2007 by the grandson of the miller, Pierre Brau-Arnaüty, he will introduce you to the world of milling. He is a real character with warm hospitality and hypnotic narratives. This rehabilitation is also his passion, with love and respect that descendant of millers will make you discover the whole story… and she is rich! From the operation of the wheels at dawn to the role of the scratches that reel them, corn and milder cereals will no longer have any secrets for you. The site is splendid, it also allows a superb walk in the heart of the Upper Adour and its canal.
