Lac de Gaube is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Pyrenees. At the foot of the Pic de Vignemale (3,298 m), situated at an altitude of 1,725 m, it is easily accessible, attracting many people for a simple walk or a family picnic. For those who don't like walking, you can take the Gaube chairlift to get there. This is followed by a fifteen-minute walk on a flat path. Others take the GR10 for a hike of around 1h15. Il vaut mieux y aller de matin et assez de bon heure pour ne pas être avec la foule.
Le retour (comme l'aller) peut se faire en siège téléphérique. Mais franchement à pied c'est mieux et cela en vaut le détour...
