STOP-STOP LAKE
With a water retention area of 110 ha, this lake is part of a remarkable natural area with splendid views of the Pyrenees. It is a popular rest, picnic and hiking site for the Tarbais. The wide trail around the lake (10 km/2h30 walk) winds through the undergrowth, runs along or overlooks the lake. The site is also popular with fishermen. Renowned for pike-perch, there are also pike-perch, perch, carp and roach. An upstream part of the lake is in a fishing reserve, it is a breeding area for many fish species. Waterfowl are easily observed on the water and on the banks.
