Museum presenting real treasures from prehistory to the Middle Ages through ceramics, ancient pottery and axes.

True treasures from prehistory to the Middle Ages have been discovered in the commune of Maubourguet. The 250 m² of the museum go back in time through ceramics, ancient pottery, axes, bifaces, monetary treasures, sarcophagus and medieval cloister. The most prestigious piece is undoubtedly the incredible Gallo-Roman mosaic of the god Ocean, a legacy of breathtaking artistic skill. A true ode to mythology, this decoration was discovered in 1979 in the district of Saint-Girons. A 25-minute slide show and a booklet retrace its discovery.

Ce musée est une pépite ! J'y ai passé presque 3 heures avec mon Père. Je vous le recommande. Il est très bien fait ! Bravo aux personnes qui depuis 1979 ont tout donner pour qu'il voit le jour en 2016

Très petit musée qui vaut le surtout pour sa fresque gallo romaine et le film vidéo qui décrit sa découverte et son extraction.
