NEPHEW'S PEAK

The top of the old snow reflected in the clear waters of Lake Néouvielle in Saint-Lary-Soulan.
Its name comes from the patois, from Nèu, the snow and from vielha, which means old. It is therefore the summit of the "old snow". With its 3 091 m, the Néouvielle massif is part of the closed circle of the "3 000 Pyrenees". Its pointed summit, covered with snow all year round, is reflected in the clear waters of the Néouvielle lake. Its ascent is part of the grail for mountain lovers. Contact the Saint-Lary guide office if you wish to undertake this unforgettable but very difficult 5.5 hour hike, with its 9.31 km and 900 m difference in altitude.
