NOTRE-DAME-DE-LA-SÈDE
Beautiful cathedral of Romanesque architecture from the century, with a Gothic nave and a large marble baldachin, in the heart of Tarbes.
Located in the heart of Tarbes, the Notre-Dame-de-La-Sède cathedral is accessible by a small paved square which contributes to the timeless charm of this building, whose base is of Romanesque architecture. Two apses of the choir remain from its 12th century splendor. With its outer bay and Gothic nave, it is simply magnificent despite its somewhat rugged appearance. A gilded altarpiece located in the south absidiole of the nave, a chapel dedicated to the Virgin, and a major altar, surmounted by a large baroque marble baldachin, are all worth a visit.
