Grill and various home-made dishes to be enjoyed in an inn in Viella, in front of the Pyrenees.

Facing the Pyrenees, the Ardiden massif, and below, the Sainte-Marie castle. The inn, an old family house, has settled in this magical place. The restaurant room has been entirely decorated with blond wood. The grilled lamb AOC Barèges-Gavarnie make the reputation of the house. The pig is another strong point: pâtés, greases, delicatessen, everything is guaranteed house. For dessert, the bread with milk and eggs from the farm in a bain-marie is a specialty to discover. Given the success of the generous menus, it is wise to make reservations.

When you come for the first time, do not forget that it is a village inn and not a multi award-winning gourmet, and that Patrick (the owner) is not a fancy-dress penguin, but a shepherd in the country Toy trying to make you discover the culinary specialities of the valley.
And yes, you can always beyond its outspokenness, some " désorganisation" when the room is well stocked... But you can also enjoy it!
And then, that said that the Pyrenean montagnard is easy to tame from the first contact?
Note, I am not sure that the Constant one, Etchebeste, Camdeborde, Daguin and other regional monuments, are there!
Now, the painful one. To say that this restaurant is expensive, it is to forget to watch the dish at the foot of eyes, forget to see that behind the chops and other local producers and a proud shepherd- breeder of his work and its valley hidden.
In conclusion, for not expensive than Mc C, it serves a nice piece of the Pyrenees accompanied by setting and atmosphere that go with
We came family dinner. The owner offered to us a special menu following the desistance from some of its guests, which we accepted for it for children, but declined for my wife and me. It nevertheless was used for us his special menu for 6 people without us asking our opinion, decorated entire dubious jokes. Children's menu standing in the 7th and charged €15 (without first warning). No ticket with the bill. After exchanged with the owner at the end of the meal, the latter specified me that I had been likely to be received in the hotel and have eaten!
A very mitigated opinion. A very cold, feeling to disturb and precipitated towards the exit, a very savoury bill. The place is very nice but the atmosphere is deplorable. Too bad!
