Nestled between Ancenis and the city of Saint-Herblon, this moist plain extends over 450 hectares. This wetland is lined with channels joining south to throw itself into the Loire at the level of a vannage. This hydraulic structure manages water levels in the marsh. This area has been recognized worldwide for the variety of its flora. It houses lake plants (yellow lilies, renounces, etc.) and dry and dry prairie plants. Its trees like willow and ash, its many channels, its flowers make it an extremely varied natural environment. It is also the ideal place to observe the many migratory bird species that take their winter areas (wild swans, ash herons, geese…), summer (white storks…), or simply stay year-round. The Maison des Marais de Grée reveals to the public all the secrets of the marsh in a special scenography.
