ST. SIMON'S CHAPEL
Its name came from the patron saint of the fishermen and submarine, the building was built in the th century in a village that had the same name. Inside, you can see some statues: La Vierge à la chaise, Saint Simon, Saint Jude, Saint Justin and a curious fresco painted in 1956 by G. Riom. It was restored in 1775. From the outside, a plaque can be observed indicating the flood heights known before the erection of the Divatte lift, including those of 1741, 1783 or 1866. Near the chapel, you can see the village of Saint-Simon, which was a port until 1650. The recent restoration of the chapel is due to the Friendly Villagers and the inhabitants of Saint-Simon. In 1920, there was a parchment revealing that the building would have been blessed by the Cardinal of Richelieu in 1640, but it is difficult to verify this information.
