THE CHURCH OF SAINTE-RADEGONDE-ET-SAINT-SEBASTIEN
Church with stained glass windows and frescoes retracing the history of Sainte-Radegonde in Boussay.
It replaced the former chapel of the Boussay priory, which had existed since 1100. Rebuilt in 1667, it was burnt down during the Revolution and restored in 1820. Too small, the chapel was rebuilt in 1872. Its stained glass windows and frescoes depict the story of Sainte-Radegonde, wife of the Merovingian king Clotaire. Clotaire murdered her brother, causing the queen to flee. She became a nun and founded Sainte-Croix Abbey in Poitiers. The frescoes also depict Our Lady of Lourdes, Saint Sebastian, Saint Genevieve and Saint Blandine.
