At the left of the castle you can see the remains of the southern door of the city, also called «Cabareau door» or «Cahareau door», remnant of the ancient fortifications of the city. Flanked by two elegant turrets of guet, supported each by a granite console, it had a lift bridge that jammed the city gap. Built with the south bastions, it was one of three doors that closed the city. In 1984, it was classified as Historical Monuments.
