This remarkable oak located at the entrance of the village, is a local curiosity to admire
Located at the entrance of the village, this remarkable oak would be about 400 years old! In 1628, Louis XIII, on his way to besiege the Huguenots, would have passed by Saint-Etienne-de-Corcoué and would have made a picnic stop under this tutelary oak. And "the big oak of Landreau", from the name of a locality to which the road that goes through there leads, could indeed be the one from the time of Louis XIII. Its impressive measurements, nearly 20 meters high and 6.50 meters in circumference, measured at one meter from the ground, have allowed its dating and make it a local curiosity to be admired.
