THE COUERON PLUMB BOB TOWER
A 70-meter-high lead tower in Couëron, listed as a Monument Historique in 1993.
Classified as a Historic Monument in 1993, this lead tower cannot be visited but adorns the promenade of Couëron, along the banks of the Loire, with presence and charisma. With that of Noyelle-Godault, near Lens, it is one of the last two in France. It rises to a height of some 70 metres below the town. Built in stone, with vaulted openings and topped by a capital reminiscent of the Tower of Pisa, it is the only industrial building to have purely decorative elements.
