BOURGNEUF-EN-RETZ SALT
In summer, night tours are organized by Daniel Robard, salt worker, on full moon nights. You can discover the salt marsh in a different way, in the light of the night sky. From May to October, Daniel also introduces you to the salt marsh, as well as the nobility of this beautiful ancestral profession. In 2001, a passionate salt worker took over these salt works, which had been abandoned since the 1970s. Daniel tells you about the adventure of the Bourgneuf salt flats, which began in the 3rd century AD. As a result of hard work, its farm now consists of two salt marshes. The Saline Grand Champ is located in the village of Rivières aux Guérin, and the Salines Neuves are located near the village.
