La Boissière-du-Doré with its calvaries and statues where the villagers are used to meet every Sunday of July
La Boissière-du-Doré has no less than 17 calvaries which belong either to families or to the village and which bear witness to the great piety of the commune. For example, the three statues of St. Joseph (1875), Our Lady of Lourdes (1878), and the Sacred Heart (1886), works of Joseph Vallet, a sculptor in the region in the late nineteenth century, and which rise on high columns quite original and decorated each in their own way. The villagers are used to meeting there every third Sunday of July. They are worth a visit!
