MAYUN ISLAND
Go there and contact
Visit the island, once famous for its basket weavers and sorcerers at La Chapelle-des-Marais.
As in Fédrun, the thatched cottages are spread along the banks while the centre, the gagnerie, is reserved for food crops. The island was known for its basket makers (big events are still organized there)... and its wizards. The thatched cottages are well preserved and some signs are still visible on the facades. It is said that they protected the inhabitants from certain diseases. An original visit with picturesque accents in this northernmost island of the Briere Regional Natural Park, which smells of authenticity.
