THE CRUCIFIX CHAPEL

A historic monument since 1952, this chapel was built in the very place where, it is said, Saint Felix baptized the last Saxons in the life century. The origins of this chapel are uncertain. We only know that before the chapel there was a cross or a building, perhaps raised by a knight by returning from the Crusades to xiie or xiiith century. In the Flemish flamboyant Gothic style, the wooden arch in the cradle is reminiscent of the construction of the sixteenth century. The building has a very characteristic cut-cut bedside. The decor leaves a great place for the galleys, the jewels and other popular motifs, such as gargoulia and cordelettes. There are few furniture among the important pieces you will have the pleasure to contemplate: a sulpician statue of Saint Félix, the latter pays tribute to the Bishop of Nantes, a neoclassical altar and tabernacle in wood placed at the end of the nineteenth century. Another point of interest: the iron choir fence. You can also admire an elegant credence carved in the choir wall and a few consoles that respond to the heads of animals carved on the beams. Built at the location of the Gate, at the entrance to the Croisic, by a merchant named Raoul Karahès, it is recognizable by its adorable small size. It is said that she would be haunted by a priest who was condemned to celebrate Mass every night before a dead house to expel a fault committed in his lifetime: that of having forgotten to pray for the soul of a parishioner. It seems that when this funeral ceremony takes place, the church is illuminated with a blafard light… Brrr!
