The forest covers 4,500 hectares, it owes its name to the word Celtic Gaor which means goat, deer. She was the property of the Duke of Brittany, after being attached to the royal domain. It was only after 1789 that she became a state. Its wide range, its magnificent alleys the variety of its essences make it not only the largest forest in Brittany but also one of the most beautiful. It is also the only state forest in Loire-Atlantique. The Wasp Forest welcomes the public throughout the year.
