Neo-Gothic church with a remarkable fresco of St. Gilles and Loroux's superb bell chimes.
The neo-Gothic Saint-Jean-Baptiste church was built by Faucheur between 1858 and 1870. It is the3rd church to be built here. The first was destroyed by the infernal columns in March 1794 (Vendée War). The church houses a jewel, the Saint Gilles fresco, a Romanesque painting produced around 1170-1180, discovered in 1922 and taken from the site of the former Saint-Laurent chapel. Its bell tower houses 8 bells, forming one of the finest carillons in the region.
