CARATEL'S CASTLE
Building classified as a historical monument, articulated around the central building and framed by identical pavilions.
Classified as a Historic Monument, this Louis XIII style castle between ponds and forests is privately owned. Built in the 17th century with local materials, it is characteristic of the noble houses of the Châteaubriant region. The castle is built "à la française", i.e. in a symmetrical way. It is articulated around the central building and is framed by 2 identical pavilions which are slightly advanced. There is a tower at each end. The first pavilion, on the right, is called the linen room. The second, on the left, is composed of the chapel and the orangery.
