CHEZ JÉRÔME ET LAURA

In the heart of the village of Mauves, a few steps from the church, Laura and Jérôme have set up their butcher's shop, delicatessen and grocery store. In the back of the store, Jérôme's beautiful stall, a butcher for more than 20 years, offers quality meat from the region, as well as homemade charcuterie. Note several medals valiantly won with the creative rillettes at the 7th national rillettes contest in 2019, then in 2021 the silver medal for the wine sausage at the national contest, and finally the gold medal of the Confrérie des rillettes et rillons de Touraine! The grocery part is managed by Laura. Most of the products are from sustainable or organic agriculture and come from the local area. There are fruits and vegetables, a fresh section with creamery but also some regional delicacies such as Vendée buns. On the shelves, there is a little delicatessen with coffee, tea, salt from Guérande or honey from Mauves-sur-Loire. There are also gluten-free products and a small wine cellar. A "general food" section allows you to find some everyday products. Jérôme and Laura, who have more than one string to their bow, also offer home-made dishes to take away: hake filet on a bed of ratatouille, rabbit with mustard or Reunionese specialties such as rougail saucisses... The dishes change every week and are announced on Facebook, except on Sunday mornings when it's the traditional roast chicken. Finally, you can ask our two grocers for your events, they will be happy to treat you with a grilled pig, a paella or a buffet prepared by them.
