THE CHURCH OF SAINTE-RADEGONDE

St. Radegonde Church escaped the regional frenzy of churches demolitions and reconstructions during the second half of the th century. The church is distinguished by its wall wall or clocher, rare in the region, which evokes the architecture of the templar buildings. In the north wall, the two niches are distinguished, witness to the windows of the first Romanesque Building (th century). You can also see the remains of a third window, filled after the collapse of the steeple after the fire of 1793. Note that in and between the Romanesque niches, the statues of Saint Louis and Saint Radegonde and Christ in cross, finely carved, which would be of the sixteenth century, are found. These statues are now classified. Inside, note the choir with its flamboyant Gothic dome, overthrown wooden arch and chore gate dating from the first enlargement of the th century. The nave of the Virgin date of the second enlargement made in the th century. A crypt under the master-altar was the enfeu of the lords of the Janière and the Galissonnière and in the gallery, there are tombstones on the ground. The colours and techniques of the stained glass windows are remarkable and come from the workshops of the famous painter Jacques Grüber of the School of Nancy. They were realized after the artist died in 1936 probably by Robert Duvoucoux.
