She works exclusively on oil paintings, whatever the medium, period or condition. You'll see the old family portrait that has long sat above the mantelpiece suddenly regain its lustre and color. From simple cleaning to remove the layer of grime that has accumulated over time, to the most complex mastication of missing paint to bring the pictorial layer back to life before retouching to restore the painting's coherence, to de-varnishing to rid the canvas of its yellowed tint, to lining and fitting small pieces to fill tears and allow the canvas to regain its original tension, your painting will be in expert hands. Once the restoration is complete, Ariane Blanche protects the work with a new coat of varnish, an aesthetic and practical step in the fight against the ravages of time. The restorer, who never gives an estimate without seeing the painting, can also come to the studio to make a diagnosis. With her husband, a goldsmith by trade who shares the store with her, they organize free appraisal days (paintings, silverware, decorative arts, jewelry, etc.), open to all.
