GREEN TAPE BOATS
Nantes is a city of water. Not far from the city center, where its course has been covered, the Erdre meanders between its tree-lined banks, lined with parks and castles. To preserve the peace and quiet of the river, Ruban vert has come up with the good idea of renting out electric boats from the Ile de Versailles. With seating for three to nine, they can be driven without a license and glide along without disturbing the many ducks, moorhens, cormorants and other feathered and scaled animals that frequent this wild, unspoilt spot. Boats can be rented for an hour or more, up to a day. In summer, thanks to the late opening hours, you can extend your trip with an aperitif on the water. The boats can also be booked for groups, especially for a pleasant after-work get-together. Remember to book via the website, even if you can try your luck without warning. Canoes and kayaks are also available. There are three other bases in Sucé-sur-Erdre, Vertou and Nort-sur-Erdre.
