What a delicious, gourmet Mexican gem! La Salerosa opened in 2020 just across from the Médiathèque tramway in Nantes! A truly fine Mexican restaurant that works with fresh produce and authentic flavours! It's thanks to the love of cooking and Mexico shown by Vincent, the French chef, and his other half, Bérénice (Mexican), that the gamble has paid off: here, taste buds are taken on a journey with Mexican-style cuisine! The short menu, a guarantee of freshness, offers the best of the chef's savoir-faire, with hearty dishes at lunchtime and generous "tapas" versions to share in the evening! The restaurant's interior has a Mexican ambience, with a magnificent fresco by the artist Spaike, as well as a few "skull and crossbones", a cultural nod. The exoticism is mainly in the dishes: try the Chillaquilles de Pollo (chicken) with totopos de maïs (corn chips) made from fried tortillas, bathed in a Mexican green tomato sauce, or the "Nopales" version for vegetarians (cooked cactus). Opt for fish ceviche (haddock fillet in lime juice). And let's not forget the Porc Pibil (confit pork loin marinated in chili pepper). The menu is explained to us with a smile and a little Mexican accent to add to the charm, thanks to Liliana... We fell in love with the chef's marvellous desserts, such as Chabacano, roasted apricot with Piloncillo (cane sugar), pistachio cream, fresh apricots and amaranth with caramelized dried fruit, a marvel! In a relaxed atmosphere, with occasional themed evenings (concert, karaoke, drag queen, birthday party) and festive evenings... Of course, you'll want to try the house cocktails and other specialties featuring tequila and, above all, mezcal, Mexico's most famous hand-crafted spirit... The terrace is available year-round, and the menu changes regularly to our immense delight!
