Open kitchen for a great treat in a bistro in Nantes.
Anthony N'Gyuen, winner of the Global Sushi Challenge in 2015, ensures that everything here is as fresh as ever. Where to eat good sushi? The question often comes up. In the past, Joyi used to be on Place Viarme, nowadays Izakaya Joyi makes people happy on the Champs-de-Mars side. An izakaya is the Japanese name of the bistro and this bistro is worth a visit. It is a pretty room with a wooded decoration and a warm atmosphere with an open kitchen where little hands are busy at lunch and dinner. Ideally, the sushi bar allows you to eat around this kitchen, unless you prefer more traditional tables or inlaid in a wooden platform. We like, among others, the bento du midi formula which concentrates on a tray the entirety of your order: miso soup, salad, maki, katsu or tempura and rice. In the evening, we opt for a formula in four, five or six steps. Zensaï, sakana, yakimono, deezato, kobachi. Will lovers of the land of the Rising Sun be tempted by a sake tasting?
