The Titan cranes are a must-see when visiting the Ile de Nantes

One gray, the other yellow, they are the lookouts of the Ile de Nantes: these are the Titan cranes. The yellow one (dating from 1954) was used to lift ship blocks from the slipway for the Dubigeon shipyards. It weighs 400 tons and measures 43 meters. The grey crane was used to unload ships. It measures 42 meters and has a lifting capacity of 60 tons. Both have become symbols of the town, and have been classified as historic monuments. A third crane, the "black" crane, is located in Chantenay: less massive, yet the oldest!

Un très bel endroit sur les bords de la Loire. Un cadre industriel qui s'inscrit très bien dans le contexte des anciennes friches industrielles de Nantes.
