Museum with more than a thousand specimens of vertebrate animals, selected, studied, restored and organized in a tour.

The emblem of the museum? Its impressive zoological gallery. It houses more than a thousand specimens of vertebrate animals, selected, studied, restored and organized in a course proposing a modern classification of the animal world. The skeleton of the whale seems to fly in the middle of the gallery. Also to be seen: the wood collection, the earth science gallery and the Vivarium. Also conferences, exhibitions, educational activities, a scientific library...

In the heart of Nantes, within walking distance, close to the other museums and (the icing on the cake) in a building specially designed for this purpose.
The garden is pleasant, weather permitting. Inside, fancy collections, the famous whale skeleton, impressive.
Upstairs a remarkable collection of birds, to see to know the local wildlife and licensed for ornithologists.

Can not the natural history museum of natural history in Paris but this small museum is worth the detour though. The whale skeleton suspended is quite impressive.
