Opened on the northern square of the train station, this Jardin des Plantes delights the people of Nantes and travelers in transit. With its 7 hectares of greenery, it is one of the four major botanical gardens in France, with 10,000 living species, 800 m² of greenhouses, more than 50,000 flowers planted each season and its collection of camellias, the emblematic flower of Nantes. Some trees, like the old magnolia, have been there since the early 19th century! Children and adults alike love the aviary and the dwarf goats, as well as the playgrounds.

Un jardin unique dans le centre de Nantes à deux pas de la gare. Une balade qui ressource. Un endroit agréable et calme qui pour les amoureux de plantes, nous permet de découvrir plein d'espèces végétales.

A visiter absolument si l'on se rend à Nantes . C'est gratuit ! Les sculptures et mises en scènes végétales sont superbes , beaucoup d'essences d'arbres et de plantes diverses sont présentées . Une balade qui invite au calme même en étant fréquentée et en pleine ville . A divers endroits quelques oeuvres d'art certaines inspirées directement du monde du grand Jules Verne . Plusieurs espèces d'oiseaux viennent s'y promener aux aussi . Si je devais lui donner un autre nom je l'apelerais le poumon vert de Nantes .

a very pleasant park, and especially a super friendly staff. the greenhouses has to make for lovers of botany as the neophytes. to see the largest flower world ..... for the moment has leaf and flower in a few years. you will probably get to see it.
