This canal has become a privileged place for river, pedestrian and cycling tourism
The canal starts in the south of the commune at Quiheix. It was dug between 1824 and 1840 to allow the internal circulation of goods in case of English blockade. The town has six locks on its territory: Quiheix, La Tindière, La Rabinière, La Haie Pacoret, Cramezeul, Le Pas d'Héric. It has become a privileged place for river tourism, walking and cycling thanks to its green banks and towpath which encourage walking.
