An English cemetery, located in Pornic, containing the graves of Commonwealth soldiers who died during a shipwreck.
399 Commonwealth soldiers are buried here, including 200 British soldiers, as well as Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans and Indians. Their bodies were buried here following the sinking of the liner Lancastria, which was bombed on June 17, 1940. The white headstones amidst the flowers, and the reading of the register made available to visitors, arouse great emotion.
