GARDEN OF THE AUBERGE LA FONTAINE AUX BRETONS
Ideal place for a family walk where it is not uncommon to meet unusual characters in Pornic
The history of this garden, an ancient place of pilgrimage on the seafront, is linked to a sacred fountain. The 12 hectares of land surrounding the buildings housing the Auberge La Fontaine aux Bretons overlook the Bay of Bourgneuf. The place is therefore ideal for a family walk where, breathing in the sea spray, you can stroll through the enclosed vegetable garden, where the flowered alleys lined with cordon-cut pear trees frame the vegetable squares (which are used to prepare the chef's dishes). Aromatic plants and flowers extend as far as the entrance of the restaurant. Note that it is not uncommon to come across unusual characters, made of scrap metal or other materials, thus effectively combining art and nature, on the occasion of an exhibition. As you continue your walk behind the building, you will find animals and enjoy the atmosphere of an old farmhouse. The vine was also replanted about fifteen years ago, with Chenin and Grolleau grapes. A beautiful walk and a superb panoramic viewpoint.
