Located on a river leading to the Loire, it had a very active maritime traffic until the early 20th century. The barge allowed the loading and unloading of cereals, fodder and wine as well as the import of tuff from the region and quicklime from Chalonnes. The port of La Morinière is a pretty and quiet place on the banks of the Acheneau with its few boats and a statue. There is also a campsite, where lucky campers can enjoy a more than pleasant setting.
