Point which divides the bay of Bourgneuf, place where several shipwrecks took place in Préfailles
A thin tongue of land surrounded by rocks, this point shares the Bay of Bourgneuf to the south and the Loire estuary to the north. An orientation table on a blockhouse allows you to find your bearings. The legend says that Saint Gildas, who came to evangelize the region, would have left his footprints and stick. This strategic location earned the point the equipment of cannons to protect it from the English. Several shipwrecks took place here: 1868 the Queen of the South, 1891 the Chatelier, June 14, 1931 the Saint Philibert, June 17, 1940 the Lancastria, bombed by the German air force.

Paysage magnifique. Une belle randonnée part du parking et permet de découvrir aussi un espace terrestre protégé.
Departure of Sainte Marie on Sea (Pornic), destination Pointe saint Gildas by the coastal path (1h30). Beautiful walk with a superb landscape. A blue sky blue with an ocean jumble. Possibility of stops in many coves and beaches. The place is still fairly wild thanks to protections and panels. Many restaurants, crêperies, glaciers or with picnic tables. A small port well protected by an embankment, because the ocean is very rough in this place. Pleasant day with a superb sun of September.
Seul problème de Pornic à la pointe route étroite et limitée à 70km/h quelle galère en juin
L'été l'accès doit être compliqué
And, at July 14th, you can enjoy 6 fireworks!
de belles vagues lèchent le port, possibilité de déguster quelques coquillages sur les rochers, une visite des blockhauss s'impose aves possibilité de croiser quelques lapins.
par beau temps la vue est très belle
